The Inteno Pulse EX400 is a home desktop router supported by OpenWrt from version 24.10.1 onwards. The device is based on the MediaTek MT7621AT SoC and features 256 MB flash and 256 MB RAM. It offers dual-band WLAN, two 1 Gbit/s Ethernet ports and one USB 2.0 port. The Genexis Pulse EX400 is technically the same device.

Flashing with the OpenWrt Factory Image:

Note: Reverting to the original OEM firmware is not possible, as the manufacturer does not provide a downloadable OEM firmware image.

Firmware Upload (OEM GUI): Access the web interface at http://192.168.1.1 or if wan is connected to your local network it gets a address by your DHCP. Login with default credentials username: admin Password:admin. Go to SYSTEM → Firmware Upgrade. In section Manual Firmware Upgrade select your downloaded factory image or paste the link to the image: factory.bin Press Upgrade and in the popup no.

Firmware Upload (OEM Recovery GUI) Press and hold the reset button by starting the device for about 10 seconds. Access the recovery web interface at http://192.168.1.1 . Sellect your factory image and upload it.

Alternatively, the TFTP method can be used if required: → generic.flashing.tftp

Upgrading OpenWrt: After a successful initial flash, future updates can be performed via LuCI (web interface) or by using the `sysupgrade` command via SSH. → generic.sysupgrade

The OEM firmware image uses ubifs.

By default, a br-lan interface is used (combining LAN and WLAN). For detailed network settings and VLAN configuration, please consult the wiki page Network.

Warranty

In the four corners of the bottom side are four screws under rubberstemps. After unscrewing these screws the top plate is held bei some hooks at the middle of the side with the USB-Port and the oposite side. You can unlock these hooks by pusching the top plate and pulling the side plate with a screwdriver.

If the device becomes unresponsive (“bricked”) due to a faulty firmware flash, the following recovery options are available:

Refer to the Serial Port Recovery and the Installing OpenWrt over TFTP for connection details. Serial connection settings:

115200 Baud, 8N1 (8 Bit & 1 Stop Bit), 3.3 V.

The serial port is accessible from outside through two slots, each for two wires. The slots are left side of the WAN-port.
